Tutored Photography Course (Intermediate) - 22-24 September

Professional photographer John Carberry and associates will be tutoring budding photographers to capture the dramatic landscape and intriguing details of Kinnaird Estate. Weather dependant, you will explore the grounds, discuss and demonstrate basic camera control, exposure techniques, composition and lighting. You will be looking at digital manipulation in a tutor led session and review images made as a group. No specialist equipment is required, just the camera you are most comfortable with, and if you have a tripod, bring it along. Waterproofs and sturdy footwear are essential.

“My mind’s eye always takes me back to Scotland where I continue to be ignited by the beauty and diversity of the light and the landscape. My images begin with the overwhelming connection I feel with the land.”

Help for Heroes Dinner and Auction - 11 & 12 December

Help for Heroes was launched in October 2007 by Bryn Parry a friend of Kinnaird, to help the seriously wounded coming back from Afghanistan and Iraq. The charity is strictly non political, accepts that wars happen under any government. They are passionate about helping our wounded servicemen and women and to date have raised £21 million. In support of Help for Heroes we are hosting a two day event with Gala Dinner and auction by Lyon & Turnbull. To ensure the event is a memorable occasion we are planning a celebrity host, flight simulators, a display of the vintage cars that took part in the Mille Miglia, and a flypast through the valley in front of the hotel.

A 2 night stay for 2 guests sharing a room from £590 includes the Gala Dinner, auction, winter cocktails to celebrate the flypast and full Scottish breakfast on both mornings. Kinnaird will make a generous donation of the profits from the Gala Dinner and guest stays to the charity.
