Fishing and Shooting

Fishing

With the season gathering pace, early spring can often surprise with big fish and surprisingly high catch levels, the biggest this season at Kinnaird was a fresh 23lb hen fish caught at the rock pool.  With the milder days it is the perfect time to enjoy peace, tranquillity and maybe even a wee dram over lunch at the bothy.

Casting Fly Fishing on a Boat on the River Tay

We invite you to join us for next year’s opening season and to learn, under the watchful eye of Kinnaird’s resident Ghillies, fly fishing and spinning, techniques to use and where to fish on your exclusively reserved beats. Our lessons are suitable for all levels of expertise, and will be tailored to personal needs.

Shooting

Kinnaird was used in the past by the ‘lively’ Ward family as an autumn retreat, where shooting was practiced and friends came together for sporting house parties. With this tradition, many of our guests regard us as one of the finest private sporting estates in Scotland.

Having some of Perthshire’s best pheasant and partridge shoots, we are able to organise excellent shooting experiences for teams of up to 8. From beginner to experienced gun, parties have a rewarding day on the estate followed by a warming whisky in front of an open fire at the ’big House’.

Between 100 and 300 bird days can be provided each season. Please feel welcome to discuss your day in detail or place an enquiry directly with the Head Keeper Mike Broad (click here for contacts).

Clay Pigeon shooting is available all year round in the splendour of the Perthshire countryside on the Kinnaird Estate
